「留白」手法，借鑒中國畫傳統「計白當黑」的理念。畫中的蝦往往置於大片空白背景中，仿佛遊弋於清澈的水中，這種虛空處理強化了動態感——蝦須的輕顫、蝦身的彎曲，都通過寥寥數筆勾勒而出，讓觀者聯想到水流中的自由遊動。通過幹濕墨的交替使用，模仿蝦在水中折射的光影，細節如蝦眼的點染、蝦腳的微動，均以「寫意」而非「寫實」手法呈現，體現了「形神兼備」的美學追求。
The artistic technique of “leaving blank” draws on the traditional Chinese painting concept of “counting the white as black”. The shrimp in the is often placed against a large blank background, as if swimming in clear water, and this void treatment enhances the sense of dynamics – the trembling of the shrimp's antennae the bending of the body are all outlined with a few strokes, allowing the viewer to imagine the free swimming in the current. By alternating the use of dry and wet ink, the and shadow refracted by the shrimp in the water are imitated, and the details such as the dotting of the shrimp's eyes and the slight movement of the shrimp' feet are all presented in a “freehand” rather than “realistic” style, reflecting the aesthetic pursuit of “both form and spirit”.
